10 Things About My Car

Good Monday Morning!

It's Monday Listicles time again!  I believe this weeks topic was chosen by Stasha herself in memory of her minivan that recently left to go to minivan heaven.  Don't worry...she's since bought a nice replacement.

So today's topic is: 10 Things About My Car.  Well my husband and I collectively have 2 vehicles, but the car that is referred to as ahem...mine is what I'll be talking about ;)

  1. My car is new to us as of August 2011.  It's a 2012 Ford Explorer Eco boost.
  2. I've always wanted an SUV, but used to want a Jeep Cherokee or Jeep Wrangler.
  3. It's white and can hold 7 passengers, which I've needed to do twice so far.
  4. Both rows of the backseats can lay down flat and makes it great for towing around all the baby stuff that we need to travel out of town for a few days.  Even with just the very back row laying down there's a lot of space. (of course because we need room for the baby seat)
  5. I love the mommy-friendly automatic lift gate.
  6. It averages about 28 mpg in the city and 33 on the hwy, which isn't too bad for a full sized SUV.
  7. I was 8 months pregnant when we bought this and getting in and out with a huge belly wasn't easy.
  8. It has a rear view camera, which is AWESOME for me because I suck at parallel parking and this makes it so much easier!
  9. It also has a touch screen interface with My Ford Touch.  I'm able to speak and tell my car to change the thermostat to 73 degrees and also use the built in navigation.  I love that!  *Geek Alert*
  10. It always smells good thanks to my small addiction to air fresheners.  Thank you Yankee Candle

And there you have it!  I liked this week's topic because I don't really take time to think about my car much anymore because the new-ness has worn off.  But we still love this car and are so glad we bought it!

    Happy Monday to you!  Toodles!

    1. Why would you ever parallel park at Target? :)
Your car is beautiful. I think it is very you. Also my favorite color. I can imagine it was not easy climbing into it at the end of the pregnancy though.
PS great photo. Cars are rather boring to snap, but you did it!!

    4. Wow!!! That gets really good gas mileage! We have a Ford Explorer too, but ours isn't an Eco boost. I love it (except for the gas mileage).
And, Yankee air fresheners are the best, aren't they?

      1. Thanks for the comment love, Jen! The Eco Boost is nice especially when we don't have a 'need for speed' anymore. It doesn't really have any "umph", but it's a nice ride.
p.s. I could live in a house of Yankee candles all day! MMmmm!

    5. Nice wheels! 'My' car is almost as old as DD, which is pretty darn old. Dents, scratches, stains... you name it, I have it. I like your rear camera feature, because for me, backing up takes a great leap of faith. Huge.

      1. Haha! Thanks Sandra! The car I traded in for this was a 01' Hyundai Elantra GT and that had SOO many scratches (from hitting a 12 point buck on the highway- but no dents from it), and dings galore from shopping carts and car doors! I was kinda glad to get rid of it. The rear camera is great! It beeps at you like crazy when you're getting close to hitting something! I recommend it! Fail proof! ;)

    6. If I had a car that had the Touch thingy, I would talk to it all the time. It would probably be the only thing to listen to me as well. Super cute truck!

      1. Thank you very much! it's a really nice feature, but it does have it's flaws - as nothing is perfect. It's great when it works :) Thanks for stopping by!

    7. That's a really nice car! I remember when my ex and I moved from Upstate NY to AL, we rented an explorer and I fell in love with that car. :D

    8. Cute car! And its fancy and does what you tell it to do! I am so jealous :) I don't think getting in and out of ANY vehicle at 8 months pregnant is easy
